Anette: When I decided to start this blog I had no idea that the KHL 2012/2013 season would involve so many Russian NHL stars. Well, let’s enjoy it while it lasts:

Evgeny Malkin has played two games for his Metallurg Novokuznetsk: Sept. 20: Salavat Yulaev – Metallurg Mg 4:3 (OT) (one assist) and Sept. 22: Ak Bars – Metallurg Mg 2:1 (SO). Today, however, he gets another chance to score his first goal when Metallurg Mg plays Neftekhimik away. (Extra video: “RT report Sept. 23”)

Alexander Ovechkin, who has played two games for Dynamo Moscow, has got points for one assist (Sept. 20: Dynamo Msk – Dinamo Minsk 7:2) and one goal (Sept. 23: Dynamo Msk – SKA 1:3). His next game will be Sept. 26 when Dynamo Msk plays Ak Bars away. (Extra videos: “Nice hit by Alex Ovechkin”“RT report Sept. 21”)

Ilya Kovalchuk, who signed for SKA Saint Petersburg, has played one game (Sept. 23: Dynamo Msk – SKA 1:3) in which the new team captain got one assist point. His next game will be Sept. 27 when SKA plays Salavat Yulaev home. (Extra video: “RT report Sept. 17”)

Finally, even though Alexander Radulov (CSKA) isn’t a NHL lockout player he deserves to be mentioned among them. He made a hattrick in his last game (Sept. 22: CSKA – Yugra 4:2) and has currently 9 points (4 goals + 5 assists) after 8 played games. The next one will be today when CSKA plays Avangard home.
